Freedom in Christ.

Deliverance and healing are not fringe charismatic phenomena — they are at the centre of the Gospel. Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, and forgave sins as one integrated act of salvation. The Church inherits this mission. Every baptised Christian has been liberated from the power of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of the Son (Col 1:13).

Healing encompasses physical restoration, inner healing of emotional wounds, and deliverance from spiritual bondage. These are not competing categories — they often occur together, and they always flow from the same source: the redemptive power of Christ's death and resurrection made present through prayer and the sacraments.

Deliverance is the specific ministry of liberating souls from bondage to sin, occult influence, generational patterns, and the demonic. Distinct from exorcism (a solemn rite reserved for ordained ministers), deliverance prayer is the ordinary work of a Spirit-filled Christian life: commanding darkness to leave, renouncing lies, and receiving the healing truth of God's Word.

This pillar is pastoral and practical. It is for those who want to walk free and those who want to help others walk free — equipped by Scripture, the sacraments, and the tested wisdom of the Catholic healing tradition.

There is a generation in the Church today carrying wounds that have never been named and bondages that have never been broken. Many come from backgrounds saturated in occult practice, sexual disorder, family breakdown, and spiritual deception. They have received the sacraments — but not the healing that the sacraments make available when received in faith and with honest self-knowledge.

At the same time, the demand for deliverance ministry is exploding — and much of what is on offer is unformed, unaccountable, and dangerous. Without doctrinal grounding, without pastoral oversight, without the sacramental context, even well-intentioned healing prayer can cause harm.

The Church is being called to reclaim her healing birthright. Not as spectacle. Not as therapy. Not as spiritual entertainment. But as the sober, sacramental, sacrificial work of setting the captives free — one person at a time, in the confessional, in the prayer room, in the hospital room, in the home.

The world is not short of wounded people. It is short of formed, equipped, humble ministers of healing. This pillar exists to raise them up.

Before any prayer of liberation, before any renunciation, before any inner healing — there is Confession. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is not a preliminary step to deliverance; it is the foundation on which all deliverance is built.

Sin gives the enemy legal ground. Unconfessed sin, hidden shame, and unrepented patterns are doorways left open. Confession closes them — not symbolically, but sacramentally, through the real forgiveness Christ won on the Cross and entrusted to His Church.

No deliverance ministry, however well-intentioned, can substitute for the grace released in the confessional. A soul that seeks freedom while avoiding Confession is seeking freedom on its own terms rather than God's.

This is why every authentic path of deliverance and healing begins here: confess, receive absolution, and only then proceed to renunciation, healing prayer, and lasting freedom.
