Every Supernatural Phenomenon Has a Source
The Church has always taught that every vision, miracle, apparition, prophecy, or manifestation comes from one of three sources.
God
Authentic miracles, charisms, apparitions, healings, and prophetic words that confirm and deepen faith.
Human Nature
Psychological, emotional, or imaginative experiences genuinely mistaken for supernatural ones — not deceptive, but not divine.
Demonic Influence
Counterfeit signs, false revelations, deceptive visions, and spiritual manipulation designed to lead souls away from Christ.
The task is not to reject the supernatural. The task is to discern the source.
Section 03 · Authentic Signs
How God Confirms His Presence
When God acts supernaturally, the fruit is unmistakable. Where these fruits are present, the Church listens.
Truth
Authentic signs never contradict Scripture or Church teaching.
Humility
True mystics become smaller, not louder.

Miracles lead people to repentance and holiness.
Peace
Not emotional hype — deep, supernatural peace.
Obedience
Authentic signs lead to obedience to Christ and His Church.

Most true miracles are quiet, humble, and unadvertised.

The Holy Spirit always points to Jesus, never to the visionary.

How the Enemy Mimics the Supernatural
Satan cannot create miracles. But he can imitate them. Scripture warns us clearly.

The Church uses a rigorous, time-tested process. Authentic apparitions are extremely rare — and the Church moves slowly for a reason.

How to Discern Prophetic Words & Revelations
Prophecy is real. The Holy Spirit still speaks. But so do human imagination, emotional impulses, and demonic deception.
Aligns with Scripture?
If it contradicts the Bible, it is false.

The Holy Spirit does not contradict Himself.
Glorifies Christ?
The Spirit always points to Jesus — never to the prophet.
Produces peace?
Not emotional hype — supernatural, deep peace.
Leads to repentance?
True prophecy calls people back to holiness.
Is it humble?
Authentic prophecy is offered, not imposed.
Is it obedient?
Prophets submit to pastors, bishops, and spiritual directors. Disobedience is the mark of a false prophet.
Does it come true?
If a prophecy claims a future event and it fails, it is not from God.
Section 07 · Charismatic Gifts
How to Discern Charismatic Gifts & Manifestations
The charismatic gifts are real and biblical. But the Church teaches they must be tested, not blindly accepted.
The Gift Must Serve the Church
Charisms are for building up the Body, evangelisation, holiness, and mission — not for entertainment or spiritual ego.
The Gift Must Be Under Authority
No gift is above the Church. No manifestation is exempt from discernment.
The Gift Must Produce Virtue
If a 'gift' produces pride, division, emotionalism, confusion, or spiritual chaos — it is not from the Holy Spirit.
Rooted in Sacramental Life
Authentic charisms flourish in Eucharistic devotion, Confession, Scripture, obedience, and prayer.
Discerned Over Time
The Church does not rush. Time reveals the source. Premature validation is dangerous.

How the Saints Discerned False Signs
The saints were experts in discernment. They confronted false visions, deceptive apparitions, and demonic illusions.

How to Discern Modern Ministries & "Revival" Claims
We live in an age of viral visions, online prophets, self-appointed seers, and untested revelations. Discernment is essential.
Is Christ at the centre?
Not the leader. Not the brand. Not the experience. Christ alone.
Obedient to the Church?
Authentic revival never rejects authority. Disobedience is a red flag.
Is the teaching orthodox?
No new doctrines. No private revelations replacing Scripture.
Sacramental life present?
If a movement downplays the Eucharist, Confession, the priesthood, or the Church — it is spiritually dangerous.
Emotional manipulation?
Hype ≠ the Holy Spirit. Frenzy is not fire.
Financial exploitation?
If 'prophecy' is monetised, it is corrupted.
Moral integrity?
Hidden sin is the signature of false revival.
Is there lasting fruit?
True revival: vocations, conversions, holiness, charity, unity. False revival: burnout, confusion, scandal, division.
Does it withstand time?
The Holy Spirit is patient. The devil is urgent. Time reveals the source.
Section 11 · Prophetic Reflection
"Seek the God of Wonders, Not the Wonders of God"
The modern world is obsessed with the supernatural — chasing visions, apparitions, miracles, prophetic words, mystical experiences, and signs in the sky. But the saints warn:
Seek God, not experiences.
Seek Christ, not phenomena.
Seek holiness, not hype.
